In 2012, we launched Google Hangouts with Roman Coppola who virtually appeared at Semi Permanent from LA, joined by his friends Jason Schwartzman, Eleanor and Francis Ford Coppola, Duffy Culligan, and more.
We worked with Google to host Semi Permanent’s first ever interactive speaker session featuring Roman Coppola in 2012. In the 40 minute session, Coppola showed us through his incredible body of work and gave us a glimpse of his world and how his mind works.
Using Google Hangouts, Coppola virtually appeared at Semi Permanent Sydney from his hometown in LA, joined by his friends Jason Schwartzman, Eleanor and Francis Ford Coppola, Duffy Culligan, Jack Raglin, Liam Hayes, Eric Bonerz and Sheena the Leopard.
The experience utilised, and demonstrated the platforms various functionalities, delivering a dynamic and energised presentation to an audience of 2000+.
This technology and being linked up in this way is something I am very curious about. The theme of my work is curiosity and I have an interest in playful things, surprising things.
